About
the territory: Our 500 square mile guide territory lies
in the middle of the Chilcotin Mountains and reaches into
the Coastal Mountains along its southwestern border. The lowest
elevation is 4348 feet with the highest elevation over 10,000
feet. The scenery in the entire area is breathtaking and awe-inspiring.
Our hunts
are primarily done by horseback from cabins throughout the
territory. From there we continue by horse or on foot for
day hunts or overnight stays in remote spike camps. Each camp
offers unique and varied terrain and wildlife.
The yearly
Mule Deer migration through our territory from the Coast Mountains
offers an abundance of quality bucks for trophy class hunts;
the potential for taking Mountain Goat and Moose trophies
is excellent. The area boasts healthy Black Bear, Timber Wolf
and Lynx.
We
believe a successful hunting experience includes:
- Making
every effort to locate your ultimate trophy animal
- A deep
respect for the animal and environment
- Healthy
food that adds to your comfort and enjoyment
- Easy
comradery and lasting memories

What
Is Included During Your Hunt: Included in the base cost
of your hunt are all meals throughout the duration of your
hunt, transportation while on your hunt and all accommodations
during your hunt. Meals are all-you-can-eat-home cooking and
the accommodations are cabins for lodge based hunts and tent
camps for wilderness based hunts.
Down
Time: Caping and handling of trophies and meat is the
responsibility of Taseko Lake Outfitters. Hunting time will
be temporarily held while your guide prepares your trophy
animal. All trophies will be prepared to transfer to the taxidermist.
Policy
on Wounded Game: If an animal is shot but gets away, it
is up to the guide to determine if the animal was hit hard
enough to die or not. Should the wound be a fatal one, every
effort must be made to find the animal. After one day of searching,
if the animal has not yet been found, it is the hunter's choice
whether to continue the search until the end of the hunt or
to hunt a different species if another tag is in hand. The
wounded animal's tag must be cancelled. Should additional
help be needed to search for wounded game, it can be provided,
and the location of the wounding may be returned to during
other hunts in the area.
Responsibilities
of the Hunter: Our Guides will be able to give you a rough
estimate of the potential trophy's size. We will do our best
to make sure the targeted animal is what you are looking for
and is legal; the final decision, however, is yours. Be sure
before you pull the trigger. If an illegal animal is shot,
it must be reported. The cost of taxidermy and the shipping
of trophies is the hunter's.
